Ekoil
Bio
Ekoil is the music project from Felipe Ríos Contesse. Felipe began writing songs in 2001, while also learning to play drums and guitar. He was the drummer and co-songwriter for the bands Laberinto, Nautilus and Ænkel, along with his longtime friend Fernando Ruz.
In 2007 Felipe had an encounter with Christ, which marked a new stage of musical creation, in which new songs began to emerge.
After several years recording samples and developing arrangements, in 2022 he managed to release the first single Tú Eres Mi Dios. To keep a low profile and prioritize the visibility of the music, he named the project Ekoil.
The name comes from the union of two Greek words that appear in Luke 1 in the Bible. In this text, John, while still in his mother's womb, rejoices when he recognizes the Savior who has just arrived.
